"A woman with good shoes is never ugly" - Coco Chanel

A new season means new shoes, here are the three styles I think every woman should own to keep her feet fashionable during the Autumn, a great balance between style and function:

Wear Now, Wear Later

Although I love a statement piece, these days I try to make sure I have great items in my wardrobe that are not only classic but tran-seasonal - all about getting my moneys worth as well as having an item that looks good no matter what it is teamed with. These tend to be my go to items on a day when I stand looking at my wardrobe and decide "I have nothing to wear".

I recently found the perfect everyday LBD - a simple jersey dress with t-shirt overlay and open back detail. A great fit, the perfect length and best of all only £25 from ASOSSince buying i have worn non stop, with summer footwear and lightweight cover up's, loved it so much went back for the printed version!

My New Hair

About a month ago i decided that i needed to shake things up a little and do something with my hair, but after many years of growing it i was a little scared to go too mad.

So off i went to the hairdressers and after a long visit (the shampoo girl didn't rinse all my conditioner out so two washes!!) on what was a ridiculously hot day i left with about 2 inches less hair, taking it up to mid chest. Liked it but after about a week i was mad at myself as i had originally gone in wanting a lot more off and basically chicken'd out! I didn't feel completely at ease with the stylist - who has cut my hair about 3 times now and never remembers me! and i think this put me off as she was very rough with my head and i just didn't feel she had listened fully to what i wanted.

Last week i ended up back in the hairdressers (different one this time) with a lovely lady called Helen and ended up going for what i really wanted - a long bob or Lob, cut to my collar bone with a few layers added. Helen kept asking if i was sure as apparently i looked petrified but i was brave and did it so another 2.5 inches off the length and i am so glad i did - LOVE it.

It is such a nice easy style to manage and looks great with a loose waved curl in.

Here was my inspiration - good old Pinterest!

A Wardrobe staple

I love the summer months however the one thing i struggle with is what to wear to work... I work in a buying office, so the dress code is very relaxed but i still like to be professional and try to wear at least one smarter items everyday (except Fridays), whilst being cool.

This Topshop ponte long-line sleeveless blazer allows me to be smart when I need to or adds a smarter element to a very casual outfit like ripped jeans. Very well made and good quality for Topshop and a steal at only £42. I went for the grey but also available in navy, white, camel, blue, rust and a blush nude - think i may need to go back for another colour, maybe the rust for autumn, very on trend and would look fabulous with my favourite little black dress.

Many many outfit combinations but my favourite ways to wear so far are:

Look 1. Layered over a monochrome printed dress with ankle boots, with simple jewellery.
Look 2.  With black skinny jeans, a high neck floaty top, statement necklace and sandals.
Look 3. Casual ripped skinny jeans, a classic white tee, statement flats and a fun necklace.
Look 4. Layered over printed dress with neutral sandals, perfect for a very hot day.

All outfits finished off with a tote bag - obsessed with both my Kate Spade Hayden and Beau.

The sleeveless blazer has become a summer staple but will also help me to transition into the cooler Autumn weather, working as a great layering piece without adding too much bulk to my outfit. Make sure to follow me on social media, to see how i style later in the year.

Primark Home

There is just something about Primark homeware that I can't resist, maybe it's the cute & quirky touches or maybe it's just the value for money -since it launched I have not managed to visit a store and not leave with at least a candle (so now I have a vast collection).  Especially impressed with the bedding sets, i now have 4 in varying prints/colours and they have lasted ages and wash well (not all cheap bedding does) and for under £15 for a set you can't go wrong - even my mum has a couple! I am sometime dubious about the quality of the clothing (too many incidences of shrinkage or holes) but so far i have been pleasantly surprised with the quality across the department.

The new styles arriving in store at the moment are gorgeous, with several great collections - something for every taste. I can feel a home haul coming on....

AW15 Mulberry Campaign

I love this time of year, that time of limbo between seasons. Spring/Summer collections are done and Autumn/Winter are just arriving in store - i love seeing whats new and the creative campaigns that accompany the styles/collections. For the last few years i have waited with anticipation for the new Mulberry ad campaign shots to arrive online - already up to speed with the direction of the collection and the pieces i already covet, the campaign shots are the signal that all the new beautiful pieces are/will now be online.

For some reason this year i feel like i have been waiting forever, but finally on Monday they appeared on Mulberry.com - i clicked on the new season link and was met by an edgy Seventies-style campaign shot on the streets of London. Again featuring Georgia Jagger this seasons hots have a more grown up yet edgy vibe to them, being described as "Having long championed nostalgic British style, the edgier new shots fuse Mulberry’s playful aesthetic with a sharper, more stylistic energy."

The Shots......

Loving Lulu

I still remember the 1st time i saw the iconic lips clutch - the traditional red featured in Vogue magazine, this was my introduction to Lulu Guinness. Always in the back of my mind but only recently has this gorgeous brand really regained my attention - after the Comic Relief tote bag collaboration with Sainsbury's (a good cause and you get a cute bag!).

I love the iconic styles but also that this brand has stepped up and moved into other areas like travel but kept to its core values. When i think of Lulu the things that immediately come to mind are lips, monochrome and just a touch of whimsical. One of the great things about this brand is Lulu herself and the positive role model she is for businesswomen - even receiving an OBE from the Queen along with many awards within the industry, not bad going for a woman with no formal design training!

After a good few hours browsing on the website, i fell in love - here are the items on my wishlist:

Happy Hayden

As you may have seen in my Krazy for Kate post, i am in love with the new arrivals in the Kate Spade Spring/Summer collection and cannot get enough of the quality and quirkiness offered by this amazing brand (just wish it was a tad cheaper). Whilst i have many items on my wishlist, one SS15 item has made it into my wardrobe.....

During my birthday trip to London, i had to visit the Covent Garden store (only 2 mins from our hotel, it would have been rude not too!) and fell in love with the Cedar Street Hayden bag. I was only supposed to be looking but once i spotted this out of the corner of my eye i knew i couldn't leave without it (i did walk away three times but always circled back to her) and as it was my birthday i figured "Happy Birthday to me". Although hubby was not too impressed and had the sales assistant in hysterics as we did the married couple squabble at the till.
